The Aegean Region Should Have the Place It Deserves in Tourism
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Ersoy met with representatives of the tourism sector in Izmir. He stated that the Aegean Region should reach the place it deserves in tourism and emphasized that they aim to spread tourism to 81 provinces. Minister Ersoy stated that they continue to work on projects to evaluate the potential, cultural assets and natural beauties of the region.
Innovations Come with the Night Museum Concept
Minister Ersoy announced that they will implement the night museum concept in Bergama and will implement this concept in points in the Aegean and Antalya. Thanks to Bergama’s Heritage to the Future Project, the number of visitors is expected to increase and the annual target of 1.5 million visitors will be reached.
Contribution of Local Governments to Tourism
Minister Ersoy emphasized that local governments are important for the sustainability of tourism and stated that tourism master plans should be prepared. The Minister said that candidates should carefully examine their election declarations and also touched upon the certification programs of tourism facilities.
