At the Top in Early Booking: Türkiye is Ahead of Spain
Early reservations in Germany revealed that the most preferred country is Türkiye. Turkey left Greece and Spain behind, respectively. Early booking in Germany is at its highest level in recent years. Early booking packages offered by tour operators broke sales records. A reservation of 3.6 billion Euros was made. According to data from Travel Data+Analytics (TDA), which compiles travel agency data, approximately €3.6 billion worth of package and modular travel was booked by tour operators at fixed travel agencies and online travel portals for summer trips between May and October. Turkey was the leading country in the distribution of 2024 summer reservations according to destinations. Greece and Spain followed Turkey, respectively. Other notable destinations were the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands.
Norbert Fiebig: Broke All Time Record
Norbert Fiebig, President of the Association of German Travel Agents (Deutscher Reiseverband – DRV), evaluating TDA data, said: “Advance reservations were 2.4 billion Euros last year. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, it amounted to 3.3 billion Euros in 2019. “Thus, 2024 early bookings broke an all-time record with 3.6 billion Euros,” he said. Stefan Baumert: Prices Will Not Increase Much in 2024
