In recent years, Turkish has been receiving increasing attention in the international arena, and one of the biggest reasons for this interest is undoubtedly Turkish TV series. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has made great efforts to ensure that Turkish TV series reach a wider audience on a global scale. As a result of these efforts, Turkey has become the country that exports the most TV series in the world, after the US. This success shows how valuable Turkish TV series are not only nationally but also internationally.
Minister of Tourism Ersoy: Our President Gave Full Support to All of Our Initiatives in the Field of Culture and Tourism
Minister of Culture and Tourism Ersoy stated that the full support given by the President to the initiatives in the field of culture and tourism has brought Turkey to the forefront of the world tourism scene. He drew attention to the fact that Turkey is one of the world leaders in archaeological excavations and the great increase in tourism revenues.
KARAMAN (AA)– Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, “ With the policies we have implemented in Turkey, which was visited by 12 million tourists 20 years ago, we expect 60 million visitors this year. At the same time, in addition to these 60 million visitors, our expectation from tourism this year is 60 billion dollars. I would also like to share with you that we will get a much larger share of the world tourism pie in the near future.” he said.
Minister Ersoy, who came to Karaman for various programs, first visited Governor Hüseyin Engin Sarıibrahim in his office and signed the governor’s honor book.
Ersoy, who later became the AK Party Karaman Provincial Chairman, said in his speech at the “Always Together, From Our Essence to the Future, Turkey Meetings” program that Karaman added great richness to the Anatolian geography with the fertility of its lands.
Expressing that the great poet of Turkish, Yunus Emre, and the owner of Turkish, Karamanoğlu Mehmet Bey, grew up on these lands, Ersoy stated that Karaman is the capital of the Turkish language and noted the following:
“Turkish is one of the most important issues we focus on. As the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, we are carrying out very important work to protect and develop our language. We have opened Turkish courses in many countries around the world under the Yunus Emre Institute. In this way, we enable thousands of people to learn Turkish every year and prepare the ground for them to discover Turkish culture. Based on our President’s words, ‘The world is bigger than five,’ I would like to emphasize the importance of being present in every corner of the world and carrying our culture and language to those points. During the 20 years that passed under the AKP government, we focused solely on this. We displayed an upright stance against the pressures of the international community in our language and culture, just like our President. One of the reasons why Turkish has attracted so much attention in recent years has been Turkish TV series. As a ministry, we have carried out very serious work to ensure that Turkish TV series are watched in different countries. We are one of the countries that export the most TV series in the world after America. On the one hand, we ensure that our series are watched, and on the other hand, in return for this interest, we open Turkish courses for foreigners who want to learn Turkish.”
– “At this point, we have promoted Turkey in more than 200 countries.”
Stating that in the past, when tourism was mentioned in our country, only sea, sand and beach came to mind, Ersoy said, “When tourism was mentioned in Turkey, one of the countries with the strongest tourism potential in the world, these were the first things that came to mind. As a result, the number of tourists visiting our country in 2002 was only 12 million. The income was 13 billion dollars. So what did we do? Under the leadership of our President and with the support of the AK Party cadres, we took revolutionary steps in the field of culture and tourism. At this point, we have promoted Turkey in more than 200 countries.” he said.
Ersoy emphasized that Turkey is one of the countries that conducts the most excavations in the field of archaeology and that with these studies, Turkey has begun to attract much more attention worldwide.
Pointing out that they are taking firm steps towards their annual target of 60 million tourists, Ersoy continued as follows:
“As a result of the policies we have implemented in Turkey, which was visited by 12 million tourists 20 years ago, we expect 60 million visitors this year. In addition to 60 million visitors, our expectation from tourism this year is 60 billion dollars. We know that the days when we will exceed these goals are not far away. I would also like to share that we will hopefully get a much larger share of the world tourism pie in the near future. It would have been impossible for us to reach this point without the upright stance behind such important actions. Our President has supported us to the end in every initiative we took to carry Turkey forward in the field of culture and tourism. Thanks to his determined will, we have become a country at the forefront of world tourism today..”
Ersoy, stating that today is the anniversary of the day on September 19, 1921 when Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was given the title of “veteran” and “marshal”, said, “I respectfully and respectfully commemorate all our heroes in Karaman, the hometown of Kazım Karabekir, Atatürk’s comrade-in-arms and one of our War of Independence heroes, on the occasion of Veterans Day. We will continue to protect all our values by protecting our precious homeland, which is the legacy of our martyrs and veterans.”
Minister Ersoy then visited the tomb of Mevlana’s mother, Mümine Hatun, located in the Aktekke Mosque.
From there, Ersoy went to the Gazi Culture and Art House and held a meeting with sector representatives.
