TTI Izmir International Tourism Trade Fair and Congress and TTI Health Health Tourism Fair started with the opening speeches for the 18th time.
Izmir opened its doors for the 18th time at the international fair that brings together the tourism and health sectors. TTI Izmir International Tourism Trade Fair and Congress and TTI Health Health Tourism Fair bring together the leading names of the sector and the latest trends with visitors for the 2nd time.
Izmir continues to be the heart of the tourism and health tourism sectors. TTI Izmir International Tourism Trade Fair and Congress and TTI Health Health Tourism Fair brought together industry professionals and visitors for the 18th time on December 5. This important meeting, which takes place under two different themes, hosts many local and foreign participants and opens the doors to innovations and collaborations that shape the sector. The fair is hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and organized in partnership with TÜRSAB and İZFAŞ, and offers the opportunity to bring together groundbreaking innovations and commercial opportunities in the sector with the participants.
Opening Speeches:
İZMİR (AA) – The 18th International Tourism Trade Fair and Congress (TTİ İzmir) and the 1st Health Tourism Fair held in İzmir opened its doors.
Speaking at the opening ceremony held for TTİ İzmir at Fuar İzmir, TRNC Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu said that they are making efforts to promote TRNC everywhere.
Stating that they are carrying out important work to develop TRNC tourism, Ataoğlu said, “We are trying to make our promotions especially on social media. We want TRNC to be introduced to our brothers in the remotest corners of our motherland Turkey. Our biggest message here is that you act knowing the existence of the TRNC, which is our own island and country, with which we share the same language, religion and money, not to different islands or countries.” he said.
Ataoğlu stated that airline companies increased their flights to TRNC and said:
“The economic contribution of tourism to TRNC is over 60 percent, we are working to increase this. The number of tourists increased very rapidly after the pandemic in 2019 and was above the pre-pandemic level. This number continues to increase every year. “Visitors coming to TRNC to see the closed Maraş are increasing the number of tourists.”
Deputy Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Zafer Levent Yıldır, explained that the fair paved the way for many new job opportunities in tourism.
Hasan Eker, Vice President of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), stated that tourism professionals should evaluate fairs well, that professional managers change frequently at fairs, and that this situation causes destination promotion to go back to normal.

TÜRSAB Vice President Hasan Eker, stated the following in his opening speech: “On behalf of the world’s largest tourism organization, I greet all the participants here,” he began his speech. While Eker expressed his gratitude to those who attended the fair, he also especially thanked the Turkish Airlines management for their support. Eker emphasized that what attracts visitors to the fair stands is people rather than visuality, and criticized the intense employee turnover experienced in many companies. Stating that, as TÜRSAB, they have been working for Turkish tourism for 50 years, Eker said, “We are taking this support even further with our Türkiye Century project.” Eker stated that 80 percent of the tourists coming to Turkey are brought by TÜRSAB member travel agencies and concluded his words by saying, “Together we are stronger.”
After the speeches, the opening ribbon was cut.
Public institutions, travel agencies, tour operators, tourism offices, hotels and accommodation facilities and airline companies opened stands at the fair, which was organized under the auspices of the Ministries of Culture and Tourism and Trade, hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, with the support of TÜRSAB and in partnership with İZFAŞ and TÜRSAB Fuarcılık.
The 1st Health Tourism Fair started in Fair Izmir. At the organization, companies related to health services will explain their services.
Both events will end on December 7.
