Tourist Guides Bill was Accepted in the Commission

Key Points:

Change in the Tourist Guide Profession Law: Foreign language proficiency for admission to the profession will now be determined by ÖSYM exams. For languages ​​that are not included in the ÖSYM calendar, expert and impartial organizations will come into play.

Training Program Flexibility:

For candidates who want to specialize in certain languages, especially Chinese and other Far Eastern languages, the training program requirement may be removed according to the needs of the tourism industry. In addition, graduates of art history and archeology will not be required to participate in the tourist guide training program.
Job Admission Process: The path to becoming a regional or national Turkish tourist guide is open for those who do not have a foreign language proficiency certificate. Applications for admission to the profession will now be made directly to the Ministry.
Discipline and Supervision: Disciplinary and supervision mechanisms such as temporary or permanent bans from the profession, regulation of tourist guide fees, and administrative fines for shopping directions during the tourist guide service are being strengthened.
Professional Organizations and Inspection: Inspections of professional organizations and their personnel are being tightened. It is made mandatory to submit the necessary information and documents during the audit.
