Schengen Visa Fee Increase
Schengen visa is a mandatory procedure for citizens of non-EU countries that do not allow visa-free travel to the European Union (EU) and the Schengen area within 90 days. The cost of this visa will change with an upcoming increase.
New Prices and Changes
The draft presented by the European Commission on February 2, following the meeting held in December, foresees an increase in Schengen visa fees. Schengen visa fees are reviewed every three years and the Commission this time said the increase was necessary in response to rising inflation rates in the EU.
Predictions for 2024
The proposal for 2024 proposes to increase the visa fee for adults by 12% from 80 euros to 90 euros, and for children from 40 euros to 45 euros.
