Latest Situation in the Cruise Segment in Spain and Greece
In 2023, the number of outgoing and incoming tourists in the cruise segment reached 11.98 million in Spain and 1.55 million in Turkey. Both countries have improved by around 50 percent in the cruise segment in 12 months.
Cruise Tourism in Spain
According to data compiled by Tourism Databank, the number of passengers traveling to and from Spain and Turkey by cruise ships increased by around 50% in 2023. While Spain increased its passenger traffic from 8.17 million to 11.98 million in 2023, Turkey increased it from 1 million to 1.54 million. In Greece, cruise tourism is expected to exceed the 2019 pre-pandemic levels in 2024, reaching 5.61 million total passengers, and reaching 5.8 million passengers by the end of 2025.
