ANTALYA (AA) – Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy reminded that they revised the visitor target for the end of 2024 to 61 million and stated that this figure will be exceeded.
Ersoy, in his speech at the AK Party Muratpaşa 6th Ordinary District Congress held at the İbrahim Çolak Gymnastics Hall in Muratpaşa district of Antalya, Referring to Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal’s son being found injured in his home, he stated that the incident was sad and wished him to get well soon.
Stating that the congresses are important both to bring a fresh breath to the district organization and to determine new goals for the future of Antalya, Ersoy said, “Under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we show the power of the nation to the world and make Turkey better in every field with each member from the provincial organizations to the headquarters.” He noted that they are a team that moves forward.
Stating that they have made Turkey a world brand in tourism and brought Antalya to the top it deserves, Ersoy said:“Now people from all over the world are stepping into these lands to see the beauties of Antalya. Behind this success are your efforts and efforts and the strong vision of the AK Party.” he said.
Reminding that Antalya hosted the Türkiye Culture Road Festival for the second time this year, Ersoy said:He noted that with the festival, they made Antalya stand out not only with tourism but also with its rich cultural heritage. Stating that they made the city a cultural center with more than 285 events in more than 77 different locations for 9 days, Ersoy stated that they introduced the historical, cultural and touristic riches of Antalya to the whole world.
Minister Ersoy underlined that they have taken revolutionary steps in the field of culture and tourism all over Turkey since the first day he took office.
Emphasizing that they are building not only today’s Turkey, but also tomorrow’s strong, leading Turkey, Ersoy said:

Ersoy said that they took Turkey out of the sea, sand and sun triangle in the field of tourism, which they approached with a visionary perspective, and that they have made and continue to make every move necessary to take tourism one step further.
Explaining that they have activated night museums in ancient cities and taken important steps in sustainable tourism, Ersoy said, “Fortunately, we are receiving the reward of all these efforts in numbers. Antalya broke records in tourism this year. “The number of tourists coming to Antalya in the 10 months of the year increased by 8 percent compared to the same period last year, exceeding 16 million.” he said.
Minister Ersoy stated that they focused on promotional activities and added that Tourism Promotion and Development Agency This year, through (TGA), 683 foreign tourism professionals and press members from 34 countries were invited to the city.He noted that they welcomed him.
Stating that the promotional films about Antalya have received more than 536 million views and 274 million impressions on digital media in nearly 200 countries, Ersoy said, “It is a film that the world follows with curiosity. On the election night in America, we broadcast videos introducing our heavenly country. According to the information we receive from broadcasters, these advertisements are more than 500 million people worldwide.It reached many people directly.” he said.
– “Local governments must fulfill their duties”
Ersoy said that, as the Ministry, they have made important investments in the city and that they expect local governments to fulfill their duties and continued his words as follows:
“There are also those like us who prefer to appear in international organizations instead of fulfilling their primary duties. The problems of Antalya are obvious, our city is taking on a more negative image every day. At this point, the biggest responsibility falls, of course, to local governments. Local governments should allocate their budgets to services, not touristic trips. We are already telling and promoting Antalya, our flagship in tourism, to the whole world. “Local governments should also fulfill their responsibilities as soon as possible.”
Ersoy added that they will continue to make Antalya the rising star of culture and tourism and to carry Turkey to its deserved place in the world.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Antalya Deputy Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated that the party’s congresses were held in a festive atmosphere. Stating that the nation’s hope is the AK Party, but this should not lead them into complacency, Çavuşoğlu stated that they should work by further strengthening unity and solidarity.
AK Party MKYK Member Menderes Türel also said that there are problems in terms of service in local governments where AK Party staff are not included, and the problems in the city are growing day by day.
