Hotel worth 4.3 Million Euros…

The hotel and travel expenses of 4.3 million euros made by the former management of the Turkish Football Federation for EURO 2024 created controversy. İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu raised questions about the lack of inspection of expenditures and stated that the authorities did not take responsibility in this regard.

Turkish Grand National Assembly (AA) – CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Basarir, regarding the new constitution discussions, said, “The first 4 articles of the Constitution are the guarantee of this country. “They should not bring secularism, the indivisible integrity and unitary structure of the country into question.” he said.

At the press conference he held in the Parliament, Basarir stated that the Istanbul 48th Criminal Court of First Instance decided to bring former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to the court by force.

Stating that Kılıçdaroğlu will not avoid testifying in a case, Başarir said, “Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is a person who walked for justice and defended the rule of law. From here I call out once again to the court and the prosecutor; Do not do this evil to this country and the law. You write an instruction, Mr. Chairman gives his statement very easily from here. I call out to the Minister of Justice, judges and prosecutors; “It is not your duty to change the agenda or create such an agenda, your duty is to act fairly.” he said.

Referring to the discussions on constitutional amendment, Başkar said that some groups brought secularism into discussion, but his party was against it.

Basarir said, “85 million people, the majority of the groups in this parliament, cannot have a problem with secularism. The first 4 articles of the Constitution are the guarantee of this country. They should not discuss secularism, the indivisible integrity and unitary structure of the country. Let the President of this country come out and say clearly what he wants to change. We are in this situation because we have moved away from secularism and its principles for 22 years. The constitution is clear, Türkiye is a secular state. It is not enough, we must adapt our laws and regulations accordingly. “No one can discuss secularism.” he said.

– “Turkey needs a solution, and the name of that solution is elections”

CHP member Basarir pointed out that the 2025 Central Government Budget Law Proposal will be presented to the Parliament today, and that the budget includes the recovery of the economy; He said that they are waiting for measures and provisions that will enable retirees, workers, farmers and young people to get rid of poverty and deprivation.

Stating that the initial budget allocated to the Presidency in the 2024 budget is 12.3 billion liras and has been discussed a lot, Basarir said, “In 2025, 17 billion liras will initially be allocated to the Presidency. Because he gave himself a 37.8 percent raise. This means that there are no retirees, workers or oppressed people in the 2025 budget. In this budget, millions of people who receive a pension of 12 thousand 500 lira and a minimum wage of 17 thousand lira will continue to be oppressed. “We will resist.” he said.

President of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, was informed that the guests attending the EURO 2024 European Football Championship were invited by the former TFF management. Basarir explained that 4.3 million euros were spent on hotel and travel expenses., “Did a single prosecutor come out and investigate? Only the prosecutor came out and asked Mehmet Büyükekşi, ‘With what right, in what way, and to whom did you spend this?’ Did he say? There were also people from the opposition who went to the matches, but everyone paid their own expenses, except for the ticket invitation. Unfortunately, Türkiye has become an uncontrolled country.” he said.

Ali Mahir Basarir claimed that Fernas Mining company, which came to the fore with the dismissal of some workers, did not pay regular taxes even though it had a turnover of 7 billion lira.

When a journalist asked his opinion about some politicians’ statements about whether a new solution process would be needed, Basarir said the following:

“I do not have to solve what Efkan Ala, Numan Kurtulmuş, Devlet Bahçeli said like a puzzle. Come out and be brave, say clearly what you want to do in these meetings regarding the Constitutional amendment. Politics demands clarity. One day you experience a climate like polar cold in this country, and the next day you experience a climate like African heat. Yes, Turkey needs a solution, and the name of that solution is elections. Bring the chest and we will solve all the problems in Turkey.”
