GlobeMeets B2B Networking Event, which has managed to become one of the most important B2B Networking organizations of the tourism sector, was held in Istanbul on September 12-13, 2024. Important agreements for 2025 were signed in the organization, which was attended by more than 1000 travel agencies.

Having achieved great success in its second year, GlobeMeets B2B Networking Event was held at Rixsos Tersane Hotel Istanbul between September 12-13, 2024. More than 1000 travel agencies from 50 different countries of the world and every corner of Turkey came together at the event and important collaborations were signed regarding tourism in 2025.
The opening of the organization was held with the participation of Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Nadir Alpaslan, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin, Turkish Travel Agencies Association President Firuz Bağlıkaya, İGA Digital Services and Trade Deputy General Manager Server Aydın and over 15 Consuls General.
DMC from 50 countries participated
At the GlobeMeets B2B Networking Event, which achieved great success in its second year, buyer agencies from 37 cities in Turkey and 20 different countries came together with DMCs, airline companies, tourism offices, cruise companies, insurance companies and marketplace business partners from 50 countries.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, GlobeMeets President Hüseyin Kurt emphasized that the sense of unity in the sector is very important and stated that they brought together the right buyer and the right service provider in the organization. Firuz Bağlıkaya: GlobeMeets has undertaken an important mission
Speaking afterwards, TÜRSAB President Firuz Bağlıkaya said, “The most important locomotive of the economy is tourism, and the locomotive of tourism is travel agencies.”
Bağlıkaya, who mentioned that GlobeMeets undertook an important mission in marketing tourism products in a changing world, said, “As TÜRSAB, we will continue to support events like GlobeMeets. I respectfully greet all of you, wishing the participants productive meetings.”
Speaking after Bağlıka, İGA Digital Services and Trade Deputy General Manager Server Aydın touched on the importance of the event and expressed their pleasure in taking part in the organization as İGA Airport Operations, the meeting point of the world.
Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin, who was present at the organization as the guest Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, said, “I congratulate my brother Hüseyin for the vision he has put forward. We are waiting for everyone in Gaziantep.”
Deputy Minister Alpaslan drew attention to the importance of TGA
Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Nadir Alpaslan, who started his speech by stating that Turkey will close this year with 60 million tourists, touched on the promotional activities carried out by TGA.
Alpaslan, who explained that Turkey has reached an important place in world tourism, continued his words as follows: “Our President declared tourism as a strategic sector in 2018. We are trying to maximize the benefit that Turkey will obtain from tourism. Our tourism sector is rising through public-private sector cooperation through TGA. TGA has undertaken important works in the face of both crises and opportunities. As it is known, the whole world experienced the pandemic. People could not leave their homes. During this process, we came together with the sector, supported the employees and ensured that the visitors coming to our country had a holiday in a sterile environment with the Safe Tourism Certificate. We were among the countries that contracted the least in tourism during the Covid period.”

In his speech, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül expressed his pleasure in seeing participants from 50 different countries of the world in such a qualified meeting in Istanbul, the city of trust and peace.
The successfully completed GlobeMeets B2B Networking Event ended with a “networking party” held at Fişekhane, Istanbul’s leading culture, art and gastronomy center, on the evening of September 13.
