Stating that the number of planes landing and taking off from the airports in the 9 months of this year was 687 thousand 194 on domestic lines and 669 thousand 114 on international lines, Uraloğlu pointed out that the plane traffic including overpasses was 1 million 752 thousand 501.

Uraloğlu emphasized that the aircraft traffic served at the end of September increased by 5.9 percent compared to the same period of 2023, and gave the following information in his statement:

“While our airports across Turkey served 72 million 949 thousand 528 passengers on domestic lines and 104 million 186 thousand 201 passengers on international lines, 177 million 346 thousand 498 passengers, including direct transit passengers, used our airports. “The number of passengers served increased by 5.7 percent in domestic lines, 9 percent in international lines and 7.5 percent in total passenger traffic compared to the same period last year.”

Stating that the amount of freight and cargo transported at airports during this period was 682 thousand 730 tons on domestic lines and 3 million 29 thousand 526 tons on international lines, Uraloğlu noted that the amount of cargo reached 3 million 712 thousand 255 tons, an increase of 11.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

60 million passengers were transported at Istanbul Airport in 9 months
